Soċjeta` Filarmonika Marija Mtellgħa s-Sema l-Imġarr A.D. 2011 is a music society formed in 2011 aimed at promoting music and culture, henceforth referred to as “the Society” or “we”. We value your privacy and in this Privacy Policy we explain how we collect, process, use and secure the information that you provide via our website, and also explain your rights over the use of your personal data. This policy only applies to information we collect, process and use through this website and not to information that we collect offline and from emails you do not send through this website. When you click accept to our Privacy Policy you are thus agreeing to our terms. This declaration is in line with The Data Protection Act, Chapter 440 of the Laws of Malta, the European Union Directive 2002/58/EC and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR)..

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

This website currently offers the option to apply for membership, subscribe to our newsletter, donate money, shop online, contact us and learn music online. In order to provide these services, you will be required to provide personal information such as your name, surname, address, email address and contact number, depending on the service you require. This information is essential for us to provide all these services and in order to improve these services the Society’s online facilities collect, store and use the personal data you provide us with. All the data collected and every discussion by email are completely confidential and the Society will only use the information you give, to provide our services, or respond to your query. The processing of your personal information as a data subject is always carried out legitimately and in line with the GDPR.

WILL THE DATA BE SHARED WITH ANY THIRD PARTIES?

No one outside the Society will have access to your information. The data you provide will only be accessed by the Society’s Administrator, and/or a delegated person, who would need to use this information to provide the service or answer your query. The Administrator and/or delegated person is obliged to keep your information confidential. The Society will not share your data with third parties’ and will not use your personal information for advertisement purposes. We will only disclose your data without notice if this is required or permitted by law, or if such disclosure is necessary to:

  1. Cooperate with a police investigation.
  2. Protect and defend our rights and/or property.
  3. Safeguard the interest of the Society.

USE OF INFORMATION COLLECTED

The Society uses the information collected through its website to provide you with the services it offers and assistance you require. In order for us to maintain our services it is important that we are able to collect and use the information as described in this policy. We also use this information to better understand what visitors to our website require and thus, maintain and improve the quality of our service, furnish you with news about the Society and provide you with information about the Society’s activities. The data you provide will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to third-parties.

DURATION OF DATA STORED

Personal information collected will be stored for as long as necessary, only for the scope you provided it or because we are legally required to do so. Notwithstanding, subscriptions to the newsletter will allow the recipient to unsubscribe from the mailing list at any time and upon unsubscribing all personal data will be deleted automatically. When shopping online from our website, data from any cancelled or unsuccessful transactions will be automatically deleted after three (3) months from the date of such transaction.

YOUR RIGHTS

As a Data Subject, you have various rights, in particular you have the right to:

  1. Know whether your personal data is still in our records.
  2. Ask that we update your personal data or correct such data.
  3. Delete your personal data.
  4. Receive a copy of the personal data we have concerning you.
